Getting started

How much does Express Pay cost?

An Express Pay Platform Fee of 5% of the parking charge applies to each Express Pay transaction at DEN.

Do I have to use Express Pay?

No. Express Pay is an optional experience. You can still pay in the lane instead.

Do I need an app to use Express Pay?

ParkWhiz:
No. The Express Pay flow can be completed through the ParkWhiz web experience.

ParkMobile:
Yes. The ParkMobile option requires the ParkMobile app.

Can I enable Express Pay before I arrive?

ParkWhiz:
Enable during your first Express Pay visit at DEN by following the instructions on your ticket or scanning the QR code on a posted Express Pay sign in the parking facilities. Then, sign in to confirm your details and enroll.

ParkMobile:
Yes. Drivers can enable Express Pay in the ParkMobile app before arriving by adding a vehicle and payment method, then selecting Express Pay and enabling it for the vehicle. See step-by-step instructions. (opens in a new tab)

Entry & exit

What happens on my first visit?

Take a ticket when you enter. Follow the instructions on the ticket or scan the QR code on the Express Pay signage in the lot. Confirm your vehicle and payment method to enroll. When you exit, the gate lifts and your saved payment method is charged automatically.

What happens on every visit after?

Entry: Drive up to the entry lane. Your enrolled plate is recognized and the gate opens automatically. You’ll receive a welcome text with a link to the digital ticket.

During your stay: Use your digital ticket or parking app to view the active session and access the QR code if needed as a backup at exit. You can also change the payment method during your session if desired.

Exit: Drive to the exit lane. Your plate is matched to the active session, the gate opens automatically, and your saved payment method is charged for the parking duration. You’ll receive a receipt via text/email.

What if the system doesn’t read my plate?

Make sure your rear plate is clean, visible, and entered correctly.

Entry: Use the entry kiosk to take a ticket if your plate is not recognized. An Express Pay session will not start if we don't match your enrolled plate.

Exit: We have a backup for you! Just open your Express Pay digital ticket (from text message or Parkmobile App) and scan the QR code at the exit kiosk. The digital-ticket QR code is the backup exit method when license plate recognition does not work.

Payments & receipts

How are payments processed?

Your saved payment method is charged automatically when your Express Pay parking session ends at exit. The parking charge is based on the duration of the stay.

What if I park longer than expected?

You do not need to extend an Express Pay session. Your parking duration is calculated from entry to exit and charged using the applicable posted DEN parking rate.

What happens if my payment fails?

Check that the payment method on file is entered correctly. If needed, update your card. At locations configured to hold the gate for confirmed payment, a failed payment may require payment at the exit kiosk.

Where do I get my payment confirmation and receipt?

ParkWhiz:
You receive an SMS with payment details and total parking duration after exit. A receipt is also emailed to the email address on your ParkWhiz account, and the transaction is viewable under My Parking.

ParkMobile:
Your parking transaction is available in the ParkMobile app under Activity > History. ParkMobile also provides parking confirmation email receipts for completed parking transactions.

Is my data protected?

Absolutely. Your vehicle and payment details are stored in a secure environment and utilized exclusively for parking transactions.

Vehicles

Can I add more than one vehicle?

Yes. You can save multiple vehicles to your parking account. You can NOT add the same vehicle to more than one account. When starting an Express Pay session, always confirm that the plate selected matches the vehicle you are driving.

What if I’m driving a rental car?

If you are driving a rental or temporary vehicle, do not activate that vehicle for future automatic Express Pay visits. ParkWhiz: a Temporary vehicle option is also available during setup.

Account & security

How is my information used?

Express Pay securely links your license plate to your account so your vehicle can be recognized and payment can be processed when you park at Express Pay locations.

Can I cancel an active Express Pay session?

Yes. Open your digital ticket, tap Help with my parking visit, then choose Cancel Session. You’ll receive a transient ticket barcode that can be used for validation, pedestrian access, or payment at an exit or pay-on-foot kiosk. Cancelling the session does not unenroll your vehicle from Express Pay.

View session cancellation steps (opens in a new tab)
